What is Included in the Program?

Option A: Shared Apartment: $7,745.00
Option B: Shared Homestay: $8,495.00

  • Option A – accommodations in a twin-bedded room in a shared student apartment – no meals are included
  • Option B – accommodations in a twin-bedded room in a homestay in Barcelona including breakfast daily and dinner five nights per week

Both options include:

  • Orientation program in Barcelona consisting of an orientation meeting with AIFS staff, covering topics such as general acclimation to Barcelona, safety and security, local area walking tour and a welcome tapas reception
  • TMB travel pass for unlimited use on the metro, buses and trams in central Barcelona
  • Half-day sightseeing tour of Barcelona by private bus with the services of a professional, English-speaking guide, and entrance to Parc Güell
  • Weekly cultural program of optional subsidized extra-curricular activities such as cooking classes, sporting events, walking tours, theater and dance performances, tapas evenings and day trips
  • Full-day excursion to Girona and Figueres, including round-trip transportation by private bus, a guided walking tour of Girona with a professional, English-speaking guide and entrance to the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres for a self-guided visit
  • Articket pass allowing one free entrance to each of the following six museums: Museu Picasso, Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona, Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, Fundació Antoni Tàpies, Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona and Fundació Joan Miró
  • Spanish Life and Culture course taught by local, English-speaking professors, focusing on historical, political, economic and cultural aspects of Barcelona, Catalonia and Spain, with accompanying visits and activities
  • Farewell group dinner
  • Free wireless Internet access, computer lab and printing facilities at the AIFS Student Center
  • Access to the wireless-enabled AIFS Student Center and AIFS Student Services staff for information, personal advising/counseling and 24-hour emergency contact service
  • Student medical and program fee refund insurance policies

 

Optional Components:

  • Optional Transportation Package
    Students may purchase the optional transportation package consisting of round-trip trans-Atlantic airfare (SFO- Barcelona – SFO) and round trip transfers between the Barcelona airport and the hotel in Barcelona for a supplemental fee of $TBC plus $TBC in taxes and fuel supplements which will be billed separately.

 

Program fees do not include:

  • Community college enrollment fees
  • Textbooks
  • Meals not listed above
  • Passport and visa fees if applicable
  • Independent travel outside of Barcelona
  • Additional field trips or excursions required by your instructors
  • Personal expenses such as laundry
  • Optional personal effects coverage and medical insurance upgrade
