Your academic program taught by CSU faculty in Berlin.
Your housing in Berlin. Housing is self-catered apartments in a central location. There will typically be 4-6 students in each apartment and they will have access to a fully equipped kitchen. Bed linen, towels and wireless internet are also provided.
Your travel in Berlin – transportation pass for unlimited use on the buses, trams, S-Bahn and U-Bahn trains for zones A&B [and C as required for scheduled activities] for the duration of program.
An orientation program in Berlin consisting of an orientation meeting with experienced AIFS staff, student information packet including comprehensive student handbook, essential local area information, a travel workshop, a cultural differences seminar, a private half-day city bus tour with the services of a professional English speaking guide and a welcome meal.
The services of an AIFS representative for the duration of the program to liaise with all providers, transportation, accommodation, ensure the smooth running of the program and to provide a 24 hour emergency contact service.
One classroom at GLS Campus Berlin available from 9am to 4pm Monday through Thursday according to the class schedule. A multi-media projector will be available for use with the faculty laptop at no extra charge.
A weekly program of free and subsidized cultural activities including activities such as “Kaffee and kuchen” boat cruise along the River Spree, a guided visit to the Film Museum with “Film Berlin City” walking tour, a sporting event and a brewery tour.
A guided tour of the Reichstag.
A full day excursion to Potsdam including round trip transportation by private coach, entrance to the Cecilienhof Palace, with a 90 minute guided tour on the theme of “The Potsdam Conference and the Berlin Wall” and admission to Sansoucci Palace, with the services of a professional English-speaking guide.
A half-day excursion to the Memorial and Museum Sachsenhausen, including round trip public transportation, entrance, private group tour and the services of a professional English-speaking translator.
A full-day excursion to the Babelsberg Film Studio with a guided group tour or a visit to Filmpark Babelsberg with audio tour, including round trip public transportation and a group lunch. (Please note that guided tours at Babelsberg Studios are only offered in German and are subject to availability. A professional English-speaking translator will be provided.)
A three day, two night excursion to Frankfurt including: round trip transportation by train, accommodation in a centrally located tourist class hotel in twin-bedded rooms on a bed and breakfast basis and a half-day excursion to Mainz, including round trip transportation by private coach, entrance with private group tour of the Gutenberg Museum and a walking city tour of Mainz with the services of a professional English-speaking guide.

Optional Components:
Transportation package: On a space-available basis, students may purchase the optional transportation package consisting of international airfare (Los Angeles – Berlin – Los Angeles) and round-trip transfers between the airport and the housing in Berlin for an additional $TBC excluding taxes and fuel surcharges (estimated at $TBC) for which students will be billed separately.
Optional Extra Protection Insurance Coverage, including increased medical insurance ($65) and/or personal effects insurance ($90) as outlined in the AIFS program brochure.
A three day, two night excursion to Prague: including round trip transportation by train, accommodation in a centrally located tourist class hotel or hostel on a bed and breakfast basis, round trip transport by private coach to the Barrandov Studios with entrance and a two-hour guided tour with the services of a professional, English-speaking guide, a guided walking tour of historical Prague with entrance to the Prague Castle and a traditional Czech meal. (Please note, tours to the Barrandov Studios are only available Monday – Friday.) The fee for this excursion is $495. A minimum of 10 paying participants would be required for this excursion to run.
